Teflon,

I am mainly a trader instead of a long term investor, so I am going to pay the hefty tax anyway. AOL is up a mere 3 1/2 points from where I sold, and MSFT is up close to 20 points since I swapped AOL for MSFT. And also I am only taking a little profits from MSFT...as far as AOL goes, I still hold the Apr. 100 and 110 puts I sold when the issue dipped to low 110s. It can go up to whatever it wants to go, I am convinced that AOL is running way ahead of itself. A very good company selling at an unbelievable high premium.

larry!

Besides, I look forward to being back here again next year, same time, same place, discussing yet again the best way to make money on but another MSFT split!!!!!

I expect this to happen by Dec at the latest. This will be the year MSFT touts MS2000, the ship date of Win2000, a Linux software release plan for applications, an MSN action plan to beat AOL and finally starts to see these new divisions go after competitors with an even more fearsome zeal.

The market will wake up to realize that the PE should be 150 for MSFT, and the stock will be worth loads more.

If they continue to grow at the previous rates, the stock will be worth (using 90 today) 140 by years end, and after the PE goes from 70 to 210, it will be worth 360 by next spring. (It will split but this is what it would be)

Note: My guess is that within 12 months, MSFT will have announced that it will use Linux as the basis for a new OS, or will have a 64Bit OS that has a kernal that is stable,(i.e. designed by someone like Sun)!
