So ...I guess I overinterpreted? Perhaps I imposed my own context on the idea. I have always been more fascinated with the extremes, the purists, than the equally consequential hundreds&thousands of "adapters and adopters". But I still think the very concept of "ruleless relating" is radical. The adaptation of old rules to new circumstances is the way of all ages, and the casual hippie fellow travelers (who practiced this more evolutionary way) were in their own way no different from their flapper grandparents in that regard. Maybe?
