As much as I love this company, I will be selling some into this gap this am. Way too far, way too fast. I like my profits.

Here is the chart: tscn.com

I will be looking to get back in somewhere in the $70s, if I am lucky. The news of the split is wonderful, but it may be factored in already(if someone leaked a week or so ago that they may do it). We'll see what happens over the next few days.

Also, some analyst may get a bug up his butt, and decide to downgrade the stock because it has gone too far, too fast.

AND, if it is anything like NSOL, then it may drop as fast as it rises after this announcement...

Company Press Release

Leading Asia-Pacific ISPS Choose
AboveNet as the Meeting Point With
U.S. and Other Asia-Pacific ISPS

SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- AboveNet Communications Inc. (Nasdaq:
ABOV - news), the architect of a global one hop network that brings together ISPs and high
bandwidth content sites in a centralized co-location facility for commerce and partnership,
today announced that three major providers of online content to the Asia-Pacific Rim (APR),
Knight Ridder New Media, AUNET and VICNET, have chosen AboveNet for co-location
services at its San Jose Internet Service Exchange. By utilizing AboveNet's superior
co-location and connectivity solutions, the companies have access to premium peering and
improved, direct connections with other U.S. and Asian Internet Service Providers (ISPs).
The APR ISPs also will realize substantial cost savings while providing their customers
with the best-possible Internet experience.

Today's announcement brings AboveNet's APR client base to fifteen. The company won the
business of numerous major APR ISPs in the final quarter of 1998, including East Telecom
and SRS International in China and HKNet in Hong Kong.

AboveNet rapidly is becoming the preferred provider for APR ISPs and content providers
seeking to establish connectivity and presence in the U.S. Internet market. Selecting
AboveNet enables APR ISPs to utilize AboveNet's extensive peering arrangements, which
allows international ISPs and content providers direct access to leading U.S. ISPs. The
result is faster connections and a better end-user experience.

Knight Ridder New Media, a leader in interactive information, maintains more than 40 Web
sites in its Real Cities network (http://www.realcities.com). Knight Ridder New Media is
the interactive arm of Knight Ridder, the U.S.' second-largest newspaper publisher. Real
Cities continues to be one of the leading city networks on the Web today.

Knight Ridder New Media has managed Web servers for Japan's leading daily newspaper,
the Asahi Shimbun, since 1995. The company will locate U.S. Web servers for the
asahi.com online news service at AboveNet's West Coast facility. Knight Ridder New
Media chose AboveNet's co-location service because of its high-capacity connectivity to the
Pacific Rim.

AUNET Corporation, one of Asia's largest corporate-focused ISPs, has also located its hub
and servers at AboveNet's West Coast facility. AUNET carries a large portion of Asia's
corporate Internet traffic and required direct access to scalable and reliable bandwidth for
carrying voice-over-IP (VoIP) transmissions and other value added Internet applications.
The company chose AboveNet because of its average 0-5% packet loss, which will enable
telephony over the Internet without the delays that plague the acceptance of VoIP
applications today. AUNET also will benefit from AboveNet's guaranteed uptime and its
sophisticated management tools that allow companies to monitor existing bandwidth use and
plan for future bandwidth needs.

VICNET, a leading Australian ISP, chose AboveNet for its superior co- location services
and reliable bandwidth. As part of VICNET's infrastructure program, AboveNet will
become the primary U.S. Internet access point to support the expansion of Internet access to
rural areas in Victoria. AboveNet's services immediately will give VICNET customers
increased Internet connectivity and performance, and will help VICNET accomplish its
mission of making Internet access possible throughout Australia.
