He makes some valid points. Namely that the tech services business is crowded and competitive hence no free lunch, but I don't think that ought to come as a surprise to anyone. One comment that I found odd was "CS becoming a serious competitor to CA or Tivoli is also a stretch". I disagree. The Digital Network Services group acquired by Compaq has scale in that business and Spectrum surpassed Tivoli in market share on network management software in 1998. If we get the oft promised Compaq agreement inked in the next week or so , I suspect CS will have a very viable new channel for Spectrum deployment as well as help on the gear sales.
