OT--------------------------------------------------------------

The problem is that we are hypocrites of highest order, cynics trying to make others responsible of our own failures. Obliteration of mankind has absolutely no affect on our souls, as undemocratic habits have become a part and parcel of our heritage. In 1990 we made Saddam our hero, he was given the title of 'Salahuddin Ayubi' a Kurd Muslim General who had won the Jerusalem during crusades. Little did anyone realize that Saddam was the butcher of Kurds? He annihilated thousands of these poor Kurd people due to political demand of autonomy. The saga continues, someone needs to tell them this without mincing any words, I am happy I do it with top of my voice without hiding behind a shield or aka. Gg

I love my country but I love human beings too, for me it is important that my surroundings become better, my people lives may improve but without hurting anyone, that is the first objective. This is what is globalization is all about, for me it is important that no one should shed anyone's blood to grab land, we need to step up to level of mutual respect of human life.

I was in my hometown where I was born in Sindh, Sukkur, it is my birthplace and I was studying in that town until 1971, for me going back and visiting my ancestor's burial sites was important. I wanted to pay tribute to people who imparted knowledge and good education and I wanted to see my old teachers who left every thing in the West to come and teach thousands like me. I saw people using Microsoft and drinking Peps the ulcer drug was Zantac and anti-typhoid drug was a different kind of third or fourth generation antibiotic.

It was all a result of magnanimity of global drug companies that they sell these drugs at 1/15th the cost of what they are available in US. I saw in Karachi, on my way back Macdonald's, KFC's, TGI Friday, Pizza Huts and Pizza Express, all telling me very clearly that we are living in world where US products are in. Instead of abusing the 'great Satan' I thought why couldn't we realize our dependencies on these products. Take out this political belligerency and you will find that Microsoft's and Intel of the world are incorporating a new kind of global unity. Marshall plan was harbinger of peace and prosperity in Europe. In all likelihood these global companies have a role which US does not. We are entering a world of branded products totally dominated by US Fortune 500, the most important thing it is being very well received all over, slowly and slightly I see a sea change of attitude, the era of Macdonald in heart of Karachi was heart warming.

A constituency in Karachi, which always had returned the hard-liners to the parliament, is the first site of Macdonald the best part was; it was full of people with flowing beards, that was a great sigh of relive. We are teaching MCSE to our children, we eat Macdonald's, our currency is tied up to $, but we keep saying US is our biggest enemy. Representing the change I like to say ' Thank You US for everything' we shall never forget, the uncommon valor and gratitude you have shown for the humanity is our greatest asset..
