Well its somewhat official: dpiX is shutting down (whether they get bought out before ceasing operations is another issue)

After another two days of reflection I have to admit that Xerox is doing the smart thing in shutting down dpiX. It is:

1) a cash drain
2) being partially financed by DARPA grants - the same agency pushing and partially funding VRD currently
3) has little upside since VRD limits any future applicability - military has been very enthusiastic over VRD so far due to its superior space saving characteristics.
