datek failed me in:

Have you taken into consideration that Datek charges only $10 per transaction. What kind of service can one expect from this kind of bare-boned commission? Which discount brokerages provide you with better service? I, for my part, have very limited need to deal with their customer service primarily because their electronic system is fully automated. The few times I called, the amount of time I had to wait, the kind of response I got... are no better or worse than other discount brokerages. Because the computer systems at other brokerages such as Waterhouse and Etrade are NOT fully automated, oftentimes I had to call them. This is definitely no fun for anyone.

I don't mean to sound rude but it seems you and I are NOT using the same Datek. I use their system almost daily and I cannot remember the last time I cannot log in. In case you have any doubts about this, you might want to go over to the Datek thread and check. What I did experience is an occasional slowness in their system's response.

What do you mean by this?? I log in and out several times a day and I have not come across any problems. To satisfy yourself, you might want to check the Datek thread to see if anyone had encountered "poor connection...".

It goes without saying that this is a low blow. Datek did not promise you or anyone options. Why complain about something they did not promise you?

If he/she thinks that there're better deals to be had, clearly he/she should move on. I have yet to come across any that meets my current requirements better than Datek. This does NOT imply what is right for me is right for others.
