Kerry, The IT industry buys it, but so do money managers. We used to receive it at Waddell & Reed, and I went on a 4 day boondoggle tour of tech cos. sponsored by DQ. We just bought the summaries when I was at The St. Paul, but DQ hired one of our PM/analysts to follow tech cos. for them. At the hedge fund, all purchases of research came out of my share of the booty, so we didn't subscribe to diddly-squat, and DQ would have been way down on my list if they could squeeze any pennies out of my hand. At American Capital, I don't remember seeing it, but I was out of the loop for technology reports there.

I have mixed opinions about them. One moment, I think they are dumb; the next I think they are just buttering up the customers. The truth is probably some combination of the two.
