Technology Stocks : CheckFree Holdings Corp. (CKFR), the next Dell, Intel? -- Ignore unavailable to you. Want to Upgrade?

Hi, folks, I have some questions.

Here are some fundamentals from Yahoo as of today,
now, a few minutes ago:

Mkt Cap 2.174B
Last qtr -0.27 per sh
P/E N/A
Range 5 3/4 - 45

The questions:

Does anybody care about positive earnings?
Is this an internet stock? Do you (the impersonal "you,"
Benny <g>, not picking on you) trade AOL too? These questions
are rhetorical, but the point is, is CKFR a high-flyer or
a great value. I thought value, and I guess most here do too,
but I'm beginning to have serious doubts, especially in view
of the run-up with no fundamental backing. And more, below.

What kind of customer relations is it when CKFR raises
price by 3 bucks a month and uses their power of bank draft
to take it with no notification, by-your-leave, kiss-my-ass,
go-to-hell. or anything else? This is what they just did
to me, and it has me worried.

I'm still a stockholder, though I haven't checked in
for a while. I'm short May 30 calls, but heck, with the
current volatility I could roll 'em up to August 35s or
maybe even 40s with little penalty. But at the moment
I have a free short down to 30 and a nice profit if
the price stays above 30.

I'm looking for a rational reason
not to let these May 30s get called, but frankly, if they want
to piss off their old customers this way, and they
don't have the earnings to back it up (not to mention
that old technology, Benny <ggg> -- JOKE, don't want to
start a war), what's the rational reason behind all the
optimism here? Can't see it, but I'm seriously asking for
answers. I'm not just running off because I'm irritated.
Bill presentation, I suppose, but shouldn't they see to
fundamentals? This is not a new company. Shouldn't they
make current customers in their core business a priority?
This is not a Microsoft who can afford to be high-handed.

Somehow, recently, when I've asked or answered questions
here on SI indicating irritation as a customer, the responses
have focused on that, assuming I'm so irrational
or irritable that I can't see beyond it.

If anybody feels like answering, I hope we
can omit these kinds of responses. I'm not
about to base investment decisions on personal irritation
except to the extent I perceive it will affect the
investment itself. And I perceive that if they pee off
their old customers it will affect the investment,
and if they can't make a profit it will affect the
investment.

I'd be very interested in anything that can speak
to these concerns.

Regards to all,

Spots
