Wall Street seen saying 'yahoo' to mergers at open By Jennifer Shaw NEW YORK, April 1 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks were seen getting a boost at the open Thursday from a merger of two of the Internet's highest flyers and a spate of other deals on a day laden with key economic data. ''The big news is mergers -- the Internet stocks will probably continue to shine,'' said Peter Cardillo, director of research at Westfalia investments. Yahoo! (Nasdaq:YHOO - news) announced it would buy Broadcast.com (Nasdaq:BCST - news) in a deal worth about $5.7 billion. Oil stocks could be fueled by confirmation that BP Amoco (quote from Yahoo! UK & Ireland: BP.L) (NYSE:BP - news) will buy Atlantic Richfield Co. (NYSE:ARC - news). Elsewhere, CBS Corp. (NYSE:CBS - news) announced an agreement to buy King World Productions Inc. (NYSE:KWP - news) for $2.5 billion in stock. On the data front, February personal income and consumption data are due at 0830 EST/1330 GMT, as are weekly jobless claims for the period ended March 27. February construction spending and the NAPM index are slated for release at 1000 EST.
