HELP !! Any suggestions as to how I deal with Datek on this? I FedExed a cashier's check for $52,000 made out properly, to the right address, with my account number and user name on it. It was signed for in the Datek mailroom last Monday at 10:24 AM. It is now over 3 days later, and the money is not in my account (which is about 2 years old). The manager I spoke with at Datek, Thomas Van Pelt, says it is "unusual" for them to "lose" a large cashier's check. They cashed it yesterday morning. TWO DAYS after receiving the cashier's check by overnight mail. AND OVER A DAY LATER IT IS STILL NOT IN MY ACCOUNT. In fact, they can't find it. And Mr Van Pelt said that he might call me back today or tomorrow, but I need to give them time to try to find my money. He also said he might give me 3 free trades. Anybody out there with a suggestion? I am tempted to figure out my gain if I had been able to make the trades I had intended, and ask for them to reimburse me for that amount. Any other ideas? Thanks very much. Anyone out there who is having good luck with a different on-line broker?
