Packers agree with FB Henderson on reported three-year deal

GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN (TICKER) -- The Green Bay Packers have locked up fullback William Henderson, one of the NFL's best blocking backs.

The team said it agreed to terms with Henderson but did not release terms. ESPN is reportind the deal is worth $3.6 million over three years.

Henderson, 28, has been the Packers' starting fullback for the past three seasons. Last year, he emerged as an effective receiver, finishing third on the club with 37 receptions for 241 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for 70 yards and a pair of scores.

In four years, Henderson has 108 catches for 832 yards and three touchdowns while carrying 100 times for 348 yards and two TDs.

A 1995 third-round pick out of North Carolina, Henderson paved the way for running back Dorsey Levens, who rushed for 1,435 yards and seven touchdowns in 1997.

Henderson is the sixth free agent re-signed by the Packers.

As I speculated in post #503 - We'll see the Pack on Monday Night a lot. Also the schedulers must be smart as they scheduled Seattle on a Monday night as suggested in that same post.

Be careful out there.
