I didn't mean to sound bearish, only trying to be sarcastic. I forget I haven't posted on this thread regularly in nearly a year.

I've lost WAY TOO MUCH money on this sector over the last year and a half and don't intend to turn bearish now. Actually, I've been adding the last couple days, bought some of my FLC back yesterday (a day too early) and some PTEN today. Hope to buy the rest of my FLC on Monday on a dip.

It's nice to finally see the tide turning. I think we've got a lot father up to go. I can get used to this, seeing black numbers next to my OS stocks instead of red.

FWIW, I have scoured every mutual fund annual report I have access to(I get a lot), and could only find a couple funds that held ANY OS stocks. While most of the dates were as of 12/31/98, it just shows you how much farther we have to go when these funds start adding. The only funds that come to mind that had any holdings were Heartland (holding a huge chunk of TCMS, someone else had APA, and VanWagoner Funds (on their website), they say they hold NBR.

Syria in economic dire straits

By Nitzan Horowitz, Ha'aretz Correspondent

Several top U.S. officials who have recently visited Damascus are saying that the Syrian economy is in serious trouble, with one congressman describing it as in "a state of collapse."...

In addition to reports prepared by Undersecretary of State for Near East Affairs Martin Indyk that clearly indicate a deterioration in the Syrian economy, various sources report that morale is declining in the Syrian army. The fact that recent demonstrations outside the U.S. and Greek embassies got out of hand, the sources say, is an indication of the trouble rippling through the security apparatus in the country....

"Deterioration is evident everywhere," said a congressman who recently visited the country. "When I went from Syria to Jordan, I felt like I was going from Nigeria to Switzerland."...

...oil sales are also down sharply, while international commodity prices for both oil and agriculture don't offer much promise of salvation....With oil now forming some 70 percent of Syrian revenue and international oil prices remaining low, Washington believes that Syrian expenditures on oil exports are taking critical funding away from investment in infrastructure, education and health....

I'm thinking of buying some FLC calls out six months or longer. Are there any websites that show quotes on options?
