Mani - I'm still pondering an AMD investment. In the short term, it would be if I thought they were serious a takeover target. IF AMD (isn't that their new name, "IF_AMD" :-))ever performs in the manufacturing arena, I might reconsider, but I am not holding my breath. For the market AMD is in, they would need to build at least one to two more fabs to effectively compete, and that's assuming they could get decent yields out of them. I'm sorry, but at this point Intel is in a class by itself with regard to manufacturing capability and adeptness.

Thanks for the welcome.

Mani - BTW; ADSL. After just a few hours of this, I can tell you I would have a hard time going back to dial-up.

I have a few questions about your cable connection: Do you notice significant fluctuation of performance during "peak" usage times, or just over time, for that matter? The thing that sold me on ADSL was a perceived stability of the network versus the cable model.

Interested in you experience so far.
