Trippi, I agree that Milo would not have given up Kosovo. But our mission was not, supposedly, to take away Kosovo. I dont support any plan for Kosovar independence for the exact reasons you mention. We certainly would not want to create a situation which only could result in greater bloodshed later. However, if we would have done the job right, and for the stated reasons, ie. to stop the abuses against Albanians and put a monitoring force there (Milo was against NATO monitors, eh? Compromise fer chrisakes ;) ), I think we could have gotten him to the table, though you obviously have a better take on his disposition than I. I think we made a mistake supporting the KLA as well. These arent the kind of people we want, or the Serbs want, as representatives of Albanian Kosovars. Its heartening to see Ibrahim emerging as the rep, the man that started it all. A non-violent demonstrator is certainly more palatable than armed extremists whose avowed purpose is Kosovar independence. But Im being long-winded again.... ::zip::

Macedonia would break away ---

From what? What you (and almost everyone else but my Greek friends) refer to as "Macedonia" is more accurately referred to as FYROM -- the "Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia" which suggests to me that it is no longer part of Yugoslavia but independent.
