dogs into "good dogs."<

Can you do this with cats? That'd impress me all to bits.

Nihil,

If people both dumb and persistent enough to study the liberal arts all the way through a dissertation can learn to reinstall Microsoft operating systems, then so can persons in the totally unschoolable strata of society.

But how many people who are "dumb and persistent enough" (to quote you) to try to reinstall Microsoft operating systems themselves can learn to concentrate for a couple of hours and appreciate, for example, Wild Strawberries?

<< If people both dumb and persistent enough to study the liberal arts all the way through a dissertation can learn to reinstall Microsoft operating systems, then so can persons in the totally unschoolable strata of society. >> An eeire feeling came upon me as I read this. "All ya need is obsession". Then I got a Mac, and have had nothing but time on my hands, honest.

<<It would be very cheap. The children who want to be science, sports, or computer champions we can allow to enter schools where they can be tutored and share the proceeds of their remarkable success with their tutors. Everybody else can be given a multimedia computer and see what he or she can learn on their own. It should be equipped with an M&M dispenser.>>
Who is this we that ... we can allow to enter schools? Who is this we that give away mm computers? This we that give out M&M dispensers. Let alone we who'd provide sterilization, and carrying through on the criteria for sterilization. No matter how cheap, all the proceeds of everything are gone to splits between tutored and their tutors. Ain't nothing left for we to give out M&M's.
