Morning Mr Tang!

(4) The price tag is not much attractive to user like me (a cut-throat
user), I pay $13.95/month for dial-up, $25.95 - $13.95 = $12
$12x36= $432, $432+$25(setup)+$50(s&h)+$50(buy in at end of lease)=$500, add $99, I can get a box with DVD from the e4me.com joint
with 333 mhz, and no obligation.

Your calculation points to the fact that there is no free lunch! As usual you seem to be right on target.

I don't know if this is on target...
But don't the masses LIKE paying for things on payment plans?
Don't they like credit cards?
In big cities they have Rental/Leasing places that will rent/lease you a TV for a few bucks a week...and by the time they keep paying and paying...they actually pay way too much... and they actually buy FURNITURE that way. They prey on the lower income people, why isn't this PC thing any different?
Everything is payment plans...just like Apple used the 29.95 a month plan to sell their lifesavers(the IMAC, the pc that saved Apple's LIFE, haha) computers("oh...you want the INTERNET connection? That's EXTRA!")
AOL wants EVERYONE to be on the internet, and if they want it, they will have to resort to the low monthly payment plan.....because many people don't have the mindset beyound one or two months...at least financially......
