C. D. Welcome to the Benz thread. Always glad to hear a new voice in here and especially one that knows the oil and gas business. Like you I see the possibility of opening a major new play in the Mississippi Salt Basin (Tomlinson's old stomping ground) however I see the big reward for Benz shareholders as the Old Ocean project. While I feel that the Mississippi play will keep the lights on, and may even provide for a little growth, the total reserves discovered per dollars expended per well in Mississippi do not seem to provide for long term growth. These wells are very expensive and the risks of reservoir fragmentation are high around salt domes. The Old Ocean project, like the deep Chocolate Bayou and Eagle Point discoveries on trend, should be able to delineate much larger reserves with less overall expenditure to develop. The only trouble with Old Ocean seems to be getting the 3-D shot and processed. Whynotte
