Patrick: I think something will happen. Phillips is trying its hardest to keep the price of the stock down by not announcing a higher bid. But they aren't that stupid as to not realize they don't have the votes at their current price. They want to stay in the game or else they would have walked away on 4/1. So they will probably come up with a higher offer on 4/16. By then VLSI may have accepted a rival offer, of course.

Patrick, those of us who've been following VLSI (there are a few who post here and others on the Yahoo thread) have good reason (as good as it can get at this time) to believe that by the time all this ends, VLSI will no longer exist as an independent entity. I agree with you about winners and bankers/lawyers, but you might want to go back on SI and on the Yahoo thread as much as six weeks and read forward. There more good and actionable information posted as anybody might expect to find anywhere.
