Sorry if I annoyed you with my, on retrospect, rather snippish remarks. I was truly confused as to your national allegiance. Thought you might have been a former US citizen who'd moved to Canada. My apologies. And not much criticism of that sort of action by the way.

I remember a short period in my youth, when I too seriously contemplated just such an action, my number in the first lottery was 42 and I had run out my II-S deferment plus my humanitarian appeal. Eventually I opted to stay in this country and enlisted in the Air Force. But it wasn't out of great love of duty or belief in the cause.

Speaking of this current crisis, I was extremely opposed to the start of the bombing campaign. This is deja vu all over again. We have an impeached president for a commander-in-chief who must have been hiding in some closet, not smoking any dope and not have any sex, when the elementary studies of military strategy were covered.

I guess he didn't want his legacy to be a grossly stained blue dress. I count the days till his "watch" at "doing the people's business" is over. That being said, I believe a ground war is inevitable and will involve some Russian troops before this is over.

Unlike the Vietnam misadventure, I believe the US military leadership will convince their political leaders that an unfettered military strategy is the only way to win such a conflict and they will ultimately prevail, but not without significant cost. What a mess!
