Bob,

Thank you for the quick response to our entreaty. I do appreciate your efforts to keep SI a useful and viable tool for us, as well as a friendly environment in which to do research.

I was hit by that Spam-Bot twice. Once for poetry and once for posting blank posts.

Robots what are they good for?

If you see this message and continue to post, your toast:

He was hit with no warning and not a clear explanation. Many of us do not understand (it is still not totally clear) that there is a problem with posting the same information to more than three sites. Even if it is extremely relevant information and clearly not spamming.

I do think that a warning is in order. I also think that a quick perusal before the "robot" does its thing is in order.

Bob, first I would like to thank you and Jill for intervening and defeating the robot. It's comforting to know that there is human intelligence out there. Second, the "spam" was inadvertent; I believed that the content of the message is so important that every technology investor should be aware of the issues. It was not clear to me that the question that flashed on the screen was a warning.

I think there needs to be a method of rapidly dissemination the kind of information in the article. Perhaps you could think of a way to publish these kinds of things on the SI splash page.

Thank you once again.

TTFN,
CTC

SI Bob,

I hear that "flodyie" has been suspended for repeated posting of post like that:
Appearently that post (or in kind) triggered the robot:
Message 8678198

As I think that can't be compared to the usual "ad" spams like the MLM games, and floyd can't be thrown into the same pot with the usual spammers by any means but works hard on debunking stock scams (like CYOE or FNTT), I'd like to see him reinstated. Maybe a reminder to him that there exists some automated procedure recognising multi-thread reposts does the job.

Thanks a lot in advance

C.
