>> Guess I should have realized Celeron had to be faster.<<

No geek-points for you!

>>PLEASE check in at #mbtrading before you buy a vid card. It is a very picky issue. Also, you will love #mbtrading in general as it is tech-freak heaven.<<

I've actually done quite a bit of studying on this. The Dream Machine thread is also a hi-caliber hardware thread. The pro's there like the G200. 2D is pretty maxed out now. But the mIRC room sounds great, I will definitely check in there. Thanks.

I've been using win95B (along with 98 and NT) which is not much different from C. My gut is telling me it's the vid card.

You know I just thought of something. My vid card doesn't support NT, so I'm using VGA drivers when I'm running NT and I still get the white-outs. I wonder if that means it's NOT my vid card? Mark Z?

Everybody, please don't worry about this too much -- I'll get the memory (128MB CAS2@100MHz) and vid card and then let you know what happens.

wily

Rick, maybe you or another reader can provide help/direction that MB won't/can't. I've redownloaded/reinstalled MIRC 7 times now. Everytime I try to get my "mirc mask" I receive an 'insufficient parameters' response from mirc. I just retried it (redownloading/reinstalling) and the same thing happened. As such, #mbtrading has become useless for me.

The most interesting response when I tried calling MB and asking them for help, was to be told to go into the chatroom & ask which, since I don't have 'speaking' priveleges without registering properly (which can't be done w/out the mirc mask), I can't do.

BTW, I simply cut & paste the command as indicated on MB's instructions page. I've also tried typing it manually to get rid of the excess spaces but to no avail. The command in question is:

//echo 5 -a $address($me,3)
