mark,

here's what i had to do.

turn 'ial' (whatever the hell that is) on.

like this: /ial on

then cycle the channels.

i forget exactly what that means too... cycle the channels. it's easy, though. maybe someone will give you that.

but you have to turn 'ial' on.

i'll keep working on what one does to recycle the channels. maybe i'll go ask.

good luck,

mark

Mark,

A couple of suggestions. First, I know that echo command doesn't always work. If you can see your mirc address in the window where all the names in a room are shown, that is your mirc mask. Copy it and paste it into the MBT form that sets up your mirc permissioning.

If you cannot see your mirc mask, go into #mbtrading any time (like now) and ask for help. It might take a few minutes to get a response, but you will get one.

RE: the apparent paradox about going to #mbtrading for help in GETTING to #mbtrading, you can get in without a registered mirc mask providing you have the password, which you should have received by email. The only consequence of not having your mirc mask and your nick registered is that the MBT ops will ask you about it sooner or later.

If the above doesn't get you in, let me know.

Rick

Ps. I cannot stress enough that anyone who is having software problems should go to #mbtrading during trading hours and get these problems resolved. By phoning in you are only talking to one person who is probably trying to get trades done for customers, where in the chat room, your question is simultaneously addressed by a dozen or more tech experts.

There are a couple of options to get in the #mbtrading channel. The channel is password protected and the password is listed on the MBtrading download site. The other way is to use the /msg command once you are on othernet. This command sends a message to whatever nick you specify without being on a specific channel. For example to message RHD you would type: /msg rhd Hey how do I get into the channel

He will usually dcc back to you and you can solve the registration issue.
