Sword... I agree with others that this post to which I'm replying is a very good post....BALANCED and objective......you deal with mistakes and put these mistakes in context. If one wishes to look at Gordon's past as an indicator of future failings, one also has to look at the track records of the TEAM members he has assembled like Hwang and Guild as an indicator of future success. However, I do have to qualify some of your content. Regarding Piercy, though there were red flags that warranted more circumspection, being reliant on statements made "...on the Internet...." isn't exactly due process. The deal was contigent upon providing the appropriate audited financial statements. Then and only then was there sufficient evidence to give credence to the claims made by Piercy's detractors. At that time, when CCI was unable to substantiate the basis and terms on which the contract was made, then and only then the contract was promptly terminated. One also has to remember that per the settlement, TSIG got intellectual property rights to the "card", "Compact Connections" can no longer continue as a named entity, and Piercy didn't get didly. Was this "playing around" or are these circumstances just much easier to judge looking back at them in retrospect...ie Monday morning quarterbacking. One can make simlar arguments regarding what transpired with the former IR company. I agree with you that the compensation shouldn't be adjusted until results are demonstrated....However, I disagree that such adjustments and the particular future salary are out of line with what is occuring in corporate America. Executive compensation is an egregious issue apart from anything having to do with TSIG. There are many companies that have losses on the books that have executives who have been rewarded much higher combined benefits than those awarded Gordon. This is just a sad and sorry fact of corporate life. Now regarding your past analysis of Gordon's history, one can go through the same process that Dixie7777 did when he made his original assessment prior to going to work for the company. As many of the long time posters know Dixie was a thread participant who visited the company for research purposes and liked so much what he saw that he went to work for the company. Dixie later was directed to not participate on this thread and he hasn't. I state this for the "newbies". One should also keep in mind "rules" of the internet which I posted recently on another thread. These rules are as follows and as stated in this post Message 8687190 3 Rules of the Internet Revolution: 1). Ideas are more valuable than factories, equipment, natural resources, et cetera. 2). It is not enough to have good ideas. You have to implement them quicker than ever before. 3). You must form strategic alliances. Now per my conversations with Dixie aka Rich when he visited and then later joined the company, he, Gordon and others did a lot of brainstorming. Subsequently there was also a lot of brainstorming on this thread and especially via PM. The thread functioned as a source of ideas and connections. Many many light bulbs went off.......Where did the Babe Ruth deal come from??? Anyone want to thank Sam and Rich again???? Now is Gordon responsible for providing the "vision" and defining the direction of TSIG, or has the company evolved out of a meeting of many minds that the direct communication of the internet can provide? The answer to both parts of the above question is yes and yes... Above all TSIG to date has been a team effort. Sometimes team participants don't succeed until they are surrounded by the right players and placed in the right circumstances to succeed...Kind of like Randall Cunningham in Minnesota last season..... Anyway, we are in no position at this time to reach conclusions as to whether or not yet Gordon will succeed with this team ....Time will tell.... If all of the supposed rumors come to fruition and major news is released SOON, we will have a much better indication of where the company will be in the not too distant future. Please free free to take the "3 Rules" above and apply then directly to TSIG as I have done with PNLK.... If I can get some other work done, I may do so myself later today. Sincerely, z (spelling not checked)
