ahoj!!

You seem to be well informed on this matter so perhaps you ( and everyone else too for that matter ) could give me your take on this.

This is hypothetical, of course, but please be patient with me.

Let's say that an insecure paranoid postcommunist villian ( maybe Milosevic for example ) is concerned that his fiefdom is getting smaller and decides to use expand it. Let's, for example, say he decides to take over Kosovo which has a constitution which provides political and economic autonomy. As there is a 10% Serb population there he decides to use nationalism to appeal to them and strips them of their autonomy. When Kosovo tries to secede ( as other states have done )he thwarts this by armed force. Using " ethnic cleansing "
he removes the offending parties ( who have gone to maybe Macedonia, Montenegro and elsewhere ) and has then expanded.

Hmmmmm say Milo, that was pretty easy, why don't I do the same to Montenegro and Macedonia? After all, nobody cares what I do here, I can do what I want right? So off he goes on his merry way killing, burning cleaning up the places to make a nice home for the Serbs.
Of course by now there are refugees going farther and farther afield.
Italy, France, Germany, England, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia etc.etc. etc.

Of course this doesn't happen over night, but as I am sure you know all of these countries have their own ethnic minorities and , of course, their own xenophobes. What do you think will happen then?
Anyone aware of European affairs is well aware of the problems that exist even today with the rise of National Front party and rampant unemployment...could Europe assimulate so many new refugees and more importantly at what cost.

This is an aside in a way...I note that several of you are ardent Clinton bashers and I concur that his personal life, although no business of mine ( enjoyed the " coke fiend " line LOL ) and the handling of Kosovo so far ( yeah right he certainly wants to be a " hero " and get American kids in body bags on the news for political gain ). But unless I am mistaken isn't the U.S. in the best financial position it has ever been in? Unemployment at a record low, high wages, good social services, basically a darn good life for most people? I mean is he doing such a bad job?

Although I am American, and proud of it, I have lived in Europe off and on for over 20 years and everywhere I have lived ( France, England
Switzerland, Denmark and now the Czech Republic for the last 5 years ) everybody wants to go to America.

Oh well...Just, of course, my humble, mediocre opinion..not a reccomendation to buy do your own DD bla bla blablabla
