If Gobi ships next quarter, it could put even more pressure on AMD. The Gobi should be a Cayenne based chip and will probably be Socket 370. I suspect that it will initially come out of the 0.25u production lines. But, if the old MII can be marketed (insert reply slam here) at PR366 using 0.25u, the Cayenne should be close to AMD's performance sweet spot. Of course, AMD also has to contend with the Celeron 466 with Whitney later on this month. I think AMD and ATI could be in serious trouble. The K6-III could have helped, but it appears that volume has not been attainable. Also, if Whitney uses the Portola core, many consumer oriented graphics chip companies will be going the way of the Dodo.
