I like chick novels, like by Jane Austen and Henry Adams. Never could get into Dickens. Other people from that time period are good, like Kate Chopin.

Hard to imagine what a high school kid actually got out of Finnegan's Wake. I've read a couple of chapters along with the concordance by what'shisname, who wrote Clockwork Orange. It's brilliant, but I decided that if I need help reading it, I don't want to.
