I find that very often they flow together. In fact, I can't imagine eing attracted to someone who did not posses both traits--in large dollops. Along with the all-essential humor!

It's said that a writer is someone who has taught his mind to misbehave; I would guess this may be true of all the arts. In some ways this may not always enhance the appearance of intelligence, which could be very deceptive.

My mother ran an office full of engineers which happened to be located in the same building where I was in social services, so I'd go down and have lunch with her and the engineers sometimes. They were SO boring--to me. And yet they thought they were terribly, terribly smart, much smarter than the rest of us mere non-left-brained mortals.
They probably scored very high on IQ tests, but I sure didn't want to date them; lunch was about all I could handle and even then, sometimes I went back to work FURIOUS with them. They thought I was a bimbo because they found my thought processes (which are random and weird and full of seeming non sequiturs) alien and inferior to their logical (and in my opinion, uninspired) comments.

Luckily, there are people who love logic and common sense and even engineers, and there are people who appreciate chaotic thought and bimbos.
