Sounds like you misinterpreted engineer-style courtship. Laughing at you for being dumb and making mistakes is just their way of showing you that they care. Engineers are kinda funny guys. They strive for perfection, and they really, really care if things are not right. I find it an endearing trait. Most of the men I dated were engineers, who, for reasons I can't explain, were very attracted to me. One guy used to move my drink on the table back to where I was less likely to knock it over. I also dated pre-med students, and geology students. I only had one long-term relationship with a non-science type, and he had a printing company, and was a professional photographer, both of which demand perfection. But I am sure they didn't think you were a bimbo. Airhead maybe? Innncommingg!
