Well...as promised..a report! I stripped a cupboard door this past weekend with Hydrastrip 500. The door had three coats of paint on it ...the last one being a very high gloss enamel. I didn't have to use a well ventilated room. I didn't have to protect my floor other than with a few pieces of newspaper to catch the scrapings. I didn't wear a mask. The results were terrific!! First, I painted the stripper on the door and behold, hardly any smell at all! My two boys were playing nearby and I didn't mind! I had no protective clothing, gloves or glasses....and I didn't mind! After about an hour and a half I returned and the paint had blistered nicely. I took my very dull scraper and the paint, most of it, came off in long soft ribbons. It felt almost rubbery! I was peeling some of it off with my hands!! My hubby came down to the basement and shouted, "Don't touch that stuff!". So I picked some of the peeled paint and explained to him that it was not corrosive to my skin. There were still a few spots that I had to coat with stripper again but in another hour I scraped (actually "scraped" is not really the right word here because I didn't have to apply much pressure....the paint sort of "lifted" off the door. I cleaned my brush under the tap and washed my hands with soap and was finished. I found the whole experience surprisingly delightful....not that I like to work but more because this was a pretty easy job and confirmed to me the excellence of this product!! I am very impressed and will buy what I need now to strip the rest of the cupboards.
