See Dan's post, which may address what could happen if Phillips withdraws: the stock could continue to go up because the fundamentals have been firming and the stock rising to its more true value. So basically, I am not sure that the stock would drop now if Phillips withdraws. Also, remember there are suitors, so maybe someone else will come through with a good offer. Dan could be right that the BOD may not accept anything under 30. Remember that with the stock price at 20 now, a price of 30 is only a 30% increase. Linda
