Jeff,

trying to sound coherent in the wee hours of the morning while posting in his underwear.

I think I could have easily survived this day without the mental image conjured up by that statement. <g>

I think the subject of citing public records that "out" people needs to be further
clarified. Rather than say what I think SI should do, I can only say what criteria I
use.

Your criteria are fairly close to my own, but we disagree on a point that relates to the discussion we originally started with.

If a person has a contractual relationship with a company, it's not acceptable to post their home phone number or home address. To take it a step further, unless the person being discussed is a company principal (in the IR role or any other principal who publicly invites contact) or a contracted IR/PR firm, even their business phone number and address are unacceptable.

A home phone number or address should *never* be posted here. A business phone number or address is only appropriate for IR/PR people.

To use a relevant example, it was apparently recently determined that a person posting on SI was a company insider or just a shareholder whose holdings were large enough to require inclusion in certain SEC filings. Though this person posted using their real name, and it matched what was included in the SEC filings, it was not appropriate for their home or business phone number and address to be posted on SI.
