If you are going to use a "true thickness" reduction, then you must also use a true length addition along the slope which will be longer than the plan view length, ie, the hypotonis (sp?) is longer than the run. Seems like we are measuring it with a micrometer and cutting it with a chain saw since most is speculation at best.
