Paul,

Yousef didn't count on AMD JACKING UP THEIR supply voltages

This is the most feeble excuse you have come up with yet. Why don't you just be an adult and admit that AMD engineering is doing a great job?

RE:"Yousef didn't count on AMD JACKING UP THEIR supply voltages - at
the risk of reducing reliability - as a desperate attempt to maintain parity
with Intel's speeds.

Yousef's mistake was to think that AMD would act rationally with proper
attention to long term process stability issues.:
"...

Gee paul, so Yousef was only wrong about 300, 333, 350, 366, 380 and 400 because AMD had to jack voltage to get 450, 475?

Haaaaa HHHaaaa....

RE:"Yousef's mistake"...Watch out, he'll be calling you an IDIOT anytime now for saying he made a mistake. <G>

Still amazes me that he could miss this, being a "process expert" and all.

Jim

Paul - Jacked up voltage

Since the bottom line is MHz sells, if you were running Intel would you recommend that they jack up the voltage 10-20%? Would this be an effective way for Intel to compete, since the bottom line is , MHz sells. Might be able to get some marginal 700MHz parts out of the deal, and make a quick buck.

Intel has about a 90% Outstanding Vendor Approval rating over the past few years. NINETY PERCENT! Amongst other things, including ability to meet production schedules, and even pricing of it's products, a big part of this is the Q and A Intel builds into their products. I guess if your an AMD (read Tier 2 supplier?) , you don't have to worry about such things.
