I'm glad you're proud that America is showing its willingness to violate international law, to employ the mightiest air power the world has ever seen to destroy a second world country a fraction of our size, to kill women and children whose only "crime" is not to have had the opportunity of being born in a free country while we protest bittely the lawful trial of three Americans who illegally entered a foreign nation while armed and engaged in military activities, and to cause hundreds of thousands of people to be driven out of their homes (something that Colin Powell and others predicted as long ago as 1993 and others have predicted repeatedly since then), all the while lying about the facts to its citizens (remember the murdered moderate Albanians who suddenly showed alive, surprise surprise, or the soldiers who were abducted off Macedonian soil, but oops, it turns out really had invaded Yugoslavia, to say nothing of all the lies that haven't been exposed yet)...well, if all this makes you proud to be an American, forgive me while I upchuck. The reason we're bombing Yugoslavia is because Albright and Clinton wanted a chance to use their toys before they left office and to divert attention from more Clinton scandals coming down the pike, and Yugoslavia was convenient, available, near to U.S. air bases, and essentially helpless to protect its people against our weaponry. But don't make the mistake of calling it courageous, or noble, or decent. It's none of those.
