Speaking of stainless and ladders, you should see the way they closed up this new incision. I must ask to be the more-awake awake next time.

It's 3 1/4 inches long, not very big, really, for the scaffolding and air compressors. (I forgot to ask for pictures, damnit.) So uhm the way it's closed up - yah, it looks like a long pool ladder. There are rungs, each a quarter inch wide - ten of them. They poke above the skin surface about 1/8th inch, like the letter n. It's become impossible, as it's healed now, not to run yer fingers over it, like body braille. They're quite stiff. Heavy gauge, heavy duty. I assume they're Home Depot staples. They're coming out Tuesday, which could be fun to watch.

The last closure I had was nylon or something. Sewn, by the surgeon hisself, not stapled. (Sounds like Bond: "Sewn, not stapled.") I asked that guy, "Did one of your assistants sew this?" He turned and looked at me, and I could tell I had hurt his feelings. Shoot. I just figured they delegate that sort of thing. I was impressed with it, but it never occurred to me he mighta done it himself. Couldn't extricate myself from that one.

I can't figure out how they're going to get these out. Very easily. But I bet they thot of it. Got a little tool, betcha. They might be just sort of nailed-down dawgs, pounded in to cinch. Hmmm. Nope. I should have seen it! Damn! Occurs to me the tool might get them out ASAP, but was probably not designed with absence of pain in mind.

Ooooh - something to worry about.

PS: The closure is quite good - smooth. Yippee, I like clean scars. Reflects on the uhm the something. Whole.
