What can I say. I did not start the rumor about a buyout, and I can not substantiate it, and doing a bond offering may seem odd at first thought, but maybe it was already in the planning stage, and since the buyout can not be guaranteed, business must be conducted in a normal fashion, which will also develop a strong position to take to the bargining table during the acquistion talks.

What would you expect them to do, count on the acquisiton to save the day, only to then be cash poor and on the verge of serious problems and at the mercy of the takeover team during the negotiations. With the bond offering in place, BD will have a stronger hand to negotiate a better deal, which will be best for all of us stockholders, so I say, go for the bond offering, polish up the trucks, raise the prices and increase profits and be ready to make a GOOD deal with whoever it is that comes knocking.
