To report gains on mutual funds sales, you have the choice of either using FIFI (first in first out) or average cost per share. The latter method usually works out better where the fund is rising as you get the benefit of the higher prices paid on more recent purchases. Once average cost is used for a particular fund, that fund must always be reported on that method. Many fund families provide average cost information to shareholders that sell fund shares during the year.

Hope this helps,

Gary

Hi,
I update on the first and fifteenth of the month. I may have to modify this with UOPIX. Could you clarify, what is a group account? When I talked to them they told me to buy dollars and sell shares. i will call them later today and verify.
Actually I got into Profunds mush to my regret a little late. I need about $2.50 more to get my first sell.
