I see Lucent is entering the CRM business by buying an existing firm, and it is NOT Applix. It is "Mosaix" or something-or-other. Article on "Briefing.com" quoted Seibel and others as major players. Seems the consolidation may leave Applix "unattached" to whither and die. May be too late for the new CFO to swing a deal...

Hey, that IS an interesting article about Corel, and especially about Linux as the operating system for Low end computers. Low prices brought VCR's into most homes, and so too they will computers. With price points already low, the capabilities of the systems will shortly be very impressive if they aren't already. The average Joe buyer of a computer at such a price point might be darned pleased to have a simple operating system that does what he needs without crashing. If Corel is as good at making software user friendly as claimed, they have a shot at making a very nice market there. BG..I'd have to love it.
