Don, with the exception of an outright scam company where a visit to the company HQ would reveal nothing but an empty office, all companies are going to present themselves in a good light. On a visit to a Boston Market one would have seen long lines, reasonably priced food, and one might have gotten the impression that the company would be a good investment. Had one read the SEC documents though one would have gotten the true picture of the company's health. I haven't yet been short a company where there weren't people who were impressed with management's presentation of the company's hopes and dreams. However, giving a good presentation and translating that onto the balance sheet are two completely different things. Barb
