Bear markets are the result of high inflation, high interest rates and high umemployment. I would dare say none of these are good for the economy or the people that live in that economy. Also, I believe that Joe Kernen has a Masters from MIT. Alan Abelson of Barrons has been calling for the "end of the world" for the last 4 years or since the Dow was at 6000 and ridiciously overvaled in his esteemed opinion. Steve Davis
