don't be sad. You misunderstand more than you disagree with me. Since you pride yourself on an open mind there may be reason enough for me to continue the course of this discussion.

No, you have not shown that the future is not predictable. You have shown that we are unable to predict the future. I agree. Messengers of God who reveal prophesy do not claim they have predicted anything, they give full credit for the prophesy to a power beyond them self.

<<It is forbidden for me to follow this stuff>> But it is not forbidden for me to examine and understand its framework and mechanism. I have seen the exposes on <<how to perform predictions, telepathy, projections, and spoon bending. To no surprise, they are all tricks.>> Again, I agree. Education on how illusionists and con-men operate is useful, up and to the point that you join (follow) them.

<<..learning how they are done that a person can avoid being fooled.>> Ah, and here is where we find disparity. After many years of addiction and therapudic interventions, druggies and alcoholics can often articulate very precisely the clinical conditions of their affliction; even to the point of their suicide. But we are discussing the supernatural or the pretense of it at least. So we have magic and we have what people refer to as the black arts. Majic is simply the art of illusion. You stop there and insist that there is nothing beyond that. That fits your physisist paradigm of the universe. Let me suggest you expand your own reference library. The ancient texts of scripture all refer to creatures (forces) in the universe that are unseen. The scriptures predict the life of a person living according to "righteous principle" and the scriptures predict the life of and unprincipled person. It is hard to look at a persons life in the midst of the thing and say who's life is working and who's is a failure. If you look back over hundreds or thousands of examples in history it becomes obvious that the principled examples look worth while and the unprincipled examples look pretty wasted. I would say the principled individuals were supported by good forces and the unprincipled individuals were supported by evil forces to their destruction.

In my religion we believe that their are forces in the universe that are guided by Satan. We believe Satan is the enemy of mankind. We believe that the forces of Satan have been given the permission to destroy human beings who will follow Satans seductions. Notice that the things that are seductive to us are typically very attractive and the source of destruction for people who select them. We believe that human beings must first "choose" such a path or these things will have no power to destroy them. Take the words "religion" and "Satan" out of this paragraph and you will probably be agreeing with me in principle. One consistant body of literature proves and reproves this phenomena throughout history. It is the body of literature attributed to God's message to mankind.

Likewise, if someone has done research and is predicting future events based on political trends, forces of nature, such as weather, or the effects of depleted resources, then OK I think their information should be taken serious even though not as an absolute inevitable outcome. If, however some person claims to have the supernatural power to fortell the future, I have to determine that either they are a liar (we probably agree here) or that they have been supported by the unseen evil forces of Satan (you probably pooh pooh that idea). Even if you throw out the second possibility, why would you be sad if I am forbidden to follow a liar?
