I used to go with my dad when I was growing up. At 12 I knew a lot more than the old man (which wasn't much). He just loved to go and bet a couple of bucks using mostly hunches and the Daily News, which only showed the last 3 finishes. (Of course, with none of the conditions.) He never owned a stock in his life. I think he would've done real well in this market if he was still alive. Can't get the wife to go anymore. She says I just ignore her and look at the stupid Form. Guilty as charged.

I went to Bay Meadows last year, and used my Pat Day quick and easy way to eliminate the favorite with Baze. It was a very tough card to handicap with favs usually much the best in every race. From the looks of the results, NY seems to be that way. Last visit to Belmont was the day before the Belmont Stakes last June. Some friends got tickets from Claiborne and came in from KY, but I had a conflict on Belmont Day. They couldn't believe that on a sunny, warm June Friday that there were about 4,000 people at the track. It was a real ghost town, and some guards chased us out of a box by the finish line. We were the only people in the whole section!
