Cirruslvr - No, I haven't heard of Am79C978 PCnet-Home single-chip controller This may be a key point. Intel may have the marketing muscle to get the word out to the masses on technology such as this. PB

Where does that leave their other endeavors, like this AMD network controller? Meanwhile, Intel's fastest-growing business is in networking products.
