Joseph,

Sorry to see you go, but I have one observation. Don't believe everything that your buddy, the Cisco Senior Engineer, is telling you about the best people at Ascend jumping ship. That may be the case where he is but from what I see on the east coast things are really hopping at the old Cascade headquarters, as well as, their other new facility down the street.

It sounds to me that your buddy is simply regurgitating some of the tired old Chamber's rhetoric. There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking the money and running with your profits. But don't let the words of one of the competitors sway you out of your shares. There are a lot of exciting things going on in Ascend right now and when the merger with Lucent is complete there will be a lot more to be excited about.

Cheers,

Steve

Thanks to this thread, and especially Gary Korn
that provided at the time illuminated guidance throughout the worst months I did not only NOT sell, but I kept buying and trading.
Gary helped me understand that there was nothing inherently wrong
with Ascend. The stock was just an easy prey of shorts
due to a lack of proper PR work.

Hear. Hear. A toast to Gary Korn. My sentiments exactly! Gary is primarily responsible for me sticking in there during the holocaust also. I give credit where credit is due, THANKS GARY, wherever you are these days (I see him sometimes on the NN thread).

although a conversation with a C$CO
senior engineer made me aware that ASND best people are
leaving

The enemy got you to sell out? And I bet nobody at CSCO has left either... Sheesh... LOL!!!

GO ASND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joseph, Mighty Mizzou, Pat Hughes, Jan Crawley and the rest of the great ASNDers,

Thank you for the toast! I'm delighted that you are drinking champagne!

Funny thing is, today I bought a stock that has just been beaten mercilessly by the Street, ORCL (shades of ASND in late 1997). My two cent analysis for the buy:

1. The internet is booming (we know that from ASND).
2. Internet sites require databases.
3. ORCL sells databases.

Just a thought on a new play now that ASND has been retired.

Best to you all, and thanks again!
Gary Korn
