Emile, if what you said were true, there would be neither Arab Israelis, nor Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. There would be no controversy over Jerusalem, because there would be no Arab quarter. The charges and counter- charges from the '48 war should not obscure that it has never been official Israeli policy to get rid of Arabs, either from Israel or in the occupied territories, and the one political party that did advocate such measures was declared illegal.
