I've been out for most of the morning so I don't know what's going on with the market but I just heard Martha McCallum say that traders are nervous about tech stocks because ML came out this morning questioning HWP and CPQ revs for this quarter. ML is also "worried" about software company revs.

Anything else, besides profit taking of course, to account for the sell off? If not, I predict it will be short-lived and this is a buying op.

Infoworld Magazine of 3/29 lists the top five leaders in PC sales in fourth quarter/1998 as follows:

Number of Computers shipped
Compaq (1,949,000)
Dell (1,375,000)
Gateway (981,000)
IBM (978,000)
HP (777,000)

According to this story:

"The United States, Western Europe, and Asia will help drive the global PC market to new heights in 1999. Worldwide, the number of PCs shipped this year will increase by 14.3 percent over 1998 figures, hitting 103.2 million units, according to an IDC (International Data Corp.) global forecast."

CPQ just received a very strong endorsement from a local investment adviser because of its strong upside potential--it's his top stock pick for the day at $30, so I bought some. It's already up 3/16----I can't complain! :)

Jimbo, no time for research right now. Just bought 700 VOCLF @ 10 5/8 on your word alone, since you sometimes kick a similar amount of butt as I do.
I'll double the position if it gets down below 10.

P.S. What does the "F" in VOCLF stand for??? No time to look.
