Skeeter Bug,

Take a look at StarOffice if you are looking for a complete office suite which is free, runs on Linux and Windows and (according to the manufacturers claim) is fully compatible with MSOffice. I am not endorsing it as I have never used the product.

So, we already have Linux (free), Netscape browser (free) and StarOffice (free).

Skeets, >> one will shortly be able to sell a computer with an operating system, internet access and a full office suite for the cost of installation only.

This is not a new business model. I am getting emails to accept computers at no cost. I had one where I was going to get a system free..no shipping cost..and had to commit to purchasing their internet service at $7.99 per month for 2 years. I think I remember AT&T giving me this kind of a deal in the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's, 1970's.....Also, I do not remember paying any installation fee's. <ggg>
