Now being kinda slow I have a question. We save the Serbs from the Croats, now we are "saving" the Albanians from the Serbs whom the Albanians have butchered in the past. What is wrong with allowing genocide and repatriation? Three factions fighting, hell let the big dog win and get it over.

Thank you for your very informative post, but it raise a host of subsidiary questions. But I will refrain from asking them all, and instead ask one:

If you believe that international politics is in flux as a result of two mutually exclusive principles --territorial integrity and self-determination-- do you mean to imply that you believe that realpolitik has been abandoned and the world (or at least NATO) has some principles upon which it is acting? What is NATO's motivation here?
