Hey Yankee Fishyman --- ROFLMAO ---- you hit a little ol 'dillo with a 357 and it RUNS UNDER THE DECK afterwards? either Texas 'dillos are meaner than I thought or someone needs to go to the range for some more practice --- just bought a new 12 foot harpoon; brass weighted forward; toggle pointed maybe you want me to send one for killing off those poor critters? before you go and shoot yourself in the foot? Ok, here is the accurate story of the accurate LOUD shot ..... from 30 feet and out of breath from running, I draw a bead on that beady eyed critter who is in the flower bed at the edge of the deck.... pull back the hammer to go to single action ... gently squeeze ... BAMMMMM and the dude goes flying through the air as if it had exploded ... lands upside down on the deck about 15 feet away and rolls off the deck onto to the brick walkway which is below deck level ..... Now, in my neighborhood, gunfire is not very common ..... ggg... so I withdrew into the house to lay low for a tad .... and looked out the glass on the sunroom and saw the beastie slowly crawling under the deck ... so, carrying a load of guilt about killing one of God's creatures, I go back outside with the 22 loaded with quieter bullets and attempt to find it by looking through the cracks in the deck boards .... even go back and get a flashlight to help .... no dice ... and he/she wasn't moving or making any noise. The area of the deck where this dead buddy now resides is appx 500 ft sq so I'll just have to wait till he starts to smell to find him .... BTW --- the 357 had 38special wad cutters for a load, so even tho the Texas 'dillo is tough, that won't stop him in his tracks .... I use that load for target practice, but if I had used a normal 357 bullet ..... heck, I'd still not be able to hear ....... gggggg but, when I do pull it out, and if it doesn't stink too bad, I'll take a pic of the carcass and send you and I'll say it was hit behind the right front leg, halfway up, cause that's where I was aiming ........ GGGGGGG And I don't want to get ahold of anything that I need to harpoon with a 12 footer ......but thanks anyway .... Nemer
